How a Smoketree Landscape Project Comes Together
Most people call us somewhere between an idea and a plan. But no matter the project, the foundation is always the same: a clear vision and transparent communication.

Consultation
We walk the property with you, talk through what’s not working, and find out what you want from the space. Nothing gets quoted from a photo.

Design & Planning
Our landscape architecture and design team draws the plan for your specific site, working around grade, drainage, sun exposure, and any existing growth worth keeping.

Proposal & Approval
You get the plan and the cost together, for the entire scope of work, before anything is scheduled. If the plan needs to change, it changes here.

Construction & Installation
Our crews handle the hard work: grading and drainage first, then hardscape and structures, then irrigation, planting, and lighting, in the order the site and your project requires.

Final Walkthrough
We walk the finished property with you and go over how everything was installed, how the irrigation is zoned, and what your plantings need in their first season.

Ongoing Maintenance
Most clients stay on with us after the project is done for a seamless transition between installation and keeping your landscaping looking like new for the long haul.

Working With Us
One point of contact
A project manager runs your job from the first site review to the final walkthrough, so you always know who to call, what to expect, and when it’s happening.
The whole number, not our piece of it
Hiring three or four contractors for one property means three or four quotes that never add up to the real cost until the work is underway. We can price the entire project up front for you.
Your input, at the point it matters
The plan is yours to push back on before it goes to construction. Changes are easy on paper and expensive in the ground, and we’d rather spend the extra time to get it right in design.
What Sets Our Process Apart

Regional expertise with deep roots
After decades in this area, we know which plants survive a steamy Louisiana summer, how the region’s soils drain, and what a hard rain does to a sloped lot.

Landscape and pool, designed together
When a property calls for both custom pool and landscape design, we handle them as one all-inclusive build rather than multiple uncoordinated projects.

Dedicated project management
You know who’s managing your project at every phase, and you can reach us at the same number from start to finish.
Common Questions

Yes, and the best time is before construction begins.
No. If you have an idea, or even a problem area, we can help find a path forward.Plenty of projects begin with one bed, one drainage problem, or even just a maintenance contract.
It depends on the scope and the season. We give you a schedule with the proposal, and if something moves, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.
Start With a Site Walk
